What UniMemo Accesses

UniMemo accesses one type of data, and only when you initiate it:

Local Storage

Captured conversation context is stored using chrome.storage.local — a browser-native storage mechanism that exists entirely on your device. It is not synced to Google or any cloud service.

You can delete all stored data at any time by clicking the trash icon 🗑 inside the UniMemo popup, or by uninstalling the extension.

Permissions Explained

UniMemo requests the following browser permissions — and only these:

activeTab To read the URL of the tab you are currently viewing, so UniMemo can detect whether you are on Claude, ChatGPT, or Gemini before running a capture.
storage To save the compressed conversation context in your browser's local storage so it persists between popup opens. Data stays on your device only.
scripting As a fallback to inject the scraper into a tab that was open before the extension was installed. Used only when the automatic manifest injection did not run.
tabs To identify which AI platform you are using by reading the current tab's URL. No other tabs are accessed.
clipboardWrite To copy the formatted context to your clipboard when you click "Copy & Switch AI". The clipboard is never written to without your direct action.
host: claude.ai chatgpt.com gemini.google.com To run content scripts that read the conversation messages displayed on these three pages when you click Capture. UniMemo accesses no other websites.

Third Parties

UniMemo does not share any data with third parties. No analytics providers, advertising networks, or data brokers are used. No data is sold, rented, or disclosed to any external party under any circumstances.

UniMemo makes no network requests of its own. The only external resource loaded is the Inter typeface from Google Fonts (in the popup UI), which is a standard font request containing no user data.

Children's Privacy

UniMemo does not knowingly collect information from children under 13. The extension does not collect personal information from anyone, regardless of age.

Changes to This Policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a revised "Effective" date at the top. We do not expect material changes — UniMemo's architecture is intentionally designed to require no data collection.
